Patrice began his career in theatre, as a playwright and director working on various shows including; Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney’s; In The Red and Brown Water, Venus/Mars (Bush Theatre) and attending the Royal Central School Of Speech and Drama.
Patrice first ventured into drama as an actor on BBC One’s multi-award-winning children’s show; Byker Grove. He then went on to work behind the scenes shadowing the producers, directors & writing team; and the storyline department on C4’s Hollyoaks.
Patrice has Executive Produced for; BBC One, Channel 4, BBC Africa & Channel 4 Current Affairs – creating factual and scripted content alike.
As Grierson’s Trust rising talent, Dershe was introduced to leading figures across the sector, many of whom would later become pivotal mentors. She spent several years shadowing factual commissioners and collaborating with some of the most respected independent production companies in the industry.
Dershe’s growing promise earned her a scholarship from the Discovery Channel, giving her access to formal training for the first time at the prestigious National Film & Television School.
Her excellence continued to be recognised when she was selected as a Ones to Watch talent at the Edinburgh Television Festival. She was later honoured with the titles Breakthrough Leader and Wonder Woman, cementing her reputation as one of the industry’s most dynamic and influential emerging voices.
Today, Dershe has gone on to executive produce programming across major broadcasters.
